Staying Safe

Bullying still not resolved?

BullyBusters offers a mediation service for victims of bullying that has not been successfully resolved by schools or youth projects.

This will involve a number of steps:

  • Bullybusters will informally chat with the victim of bullying about who and what is affecting them and how they have been feeling about it emotionally
  • Friends and good role models in the school are asked to become involved in supporting the victim on a day to day basis
  • The perpetrator of the bullying is asked 'their side' of the story and different techniques are suggested to stop them from bullying.

All involved in the mediation process will then agree and compile a contract stating their role in the group.

The team at BullyBusters is dedicated to resolving the bullying issues which affect the individual involved and will remain in contact with them to make sure the contract is working and that the bullying has stopped.

BullyBusters run a confidential free-phone helpline for young people across Merseyside who are affected by bullying. The team listen, support, advise and offer other services to help you become happier and free from bullies.

If you, or someone you know is affected by bullying, call them for free on 0800 169 6928. They are open Monday to Friday from 9am – 7pm.
