Over the Easter holidays, Wirral Council's Community Sports team are running lots of activities for all the family! These are funded by 'You Decide' and will be taking place across Meols and Hoylake. Wirral Council is once again offering free swimming for children and young people over the Easter Holiday period. Sessions are available across Wirral's 6 pools for all under 18s from Saturday 16th April to Sunday 1st May, apart from the Bank Holidays when the Leisure Centres will be closed. Two talented crime writers from Wirral will join other creative young wordsmiths from the region in being honoured at a ceremony in Wrexham on 13th April. Ten young writers from North Wales, Wirral and Cheshire East have been shortlisted in the regional stage of the second National Young Crime Writers' Competition. 16 year-old Danielle Lowe from Bebington, a year 11 student at Wirral Grammar School for Girls, has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Belgrade from the 3rd to 12th July 2011.
